What is Massage Therapy?
Massage Therapy Treatments are primarily the assessment and manipulation of soft tissues, specifically muscles, fascia and connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints. It works to optimize overall health by having a therapeutic effect on the bodily systems as a whole, in particular the musculoskeletal, nervous and circulatory. It uses evidence based knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology to treat a wide variety of cases.

The practice of Massage Therapy has been around since ancient times. However, the development of specific Swedish massage techniques dates back to the 1700's. It is the first systemic method of therapeutic massage that has been formed based on physiology.
